For most musicians, there’s no bigger deal than performing at Carnegie Hall.
This Sunday the Florida A&M University (FAMU) Wind Symphony will do just that. Under the baton of FAMU Director of Bands, Dr. Shelby Chipman, the FAMU Wind Symphony will perform works by Jack Stamp, Eric Whitacre, Tchaikovsky, Bob Lowden, and John Williams.
This is a huge deal because the FAMU Wind Symphony is the first HBCU ensemble to perform on the famed Perlmam Stage in the Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall. This honor is a important reminder that although the FAMU Marching 100 is the “often imitated, never duplicated” world famous, Sudler Trophy winning band that can turn a football halftime into a main event, the Marching 100 is an assemblage of very talented collegiate musicians who are dedicated to the highest levels of musicianship (as well as turning up on the football field).
So please come out and support these talented young musicians tomorrow night at 8:30pm. Tickets are still available here.
